The Master Wood Pickleball Paddle by Pickleball Inc. is a wood paddle very similar in shape and size to a typical graphite or composite pickleball paddle. Made of highly-durable, seven-layer plywood, this paddle is an inexpensive, introductory wood paddle for adults. Many customers who buy this paddle are interested in pickleball but have not played enough to be sure they want to invest in a top-notch graphite or composite paddle. We don't blame them. This paddle has a tapered, raw wood handle that is secured to the body of the paddle with glue and eight heavy duty staples. The face is simple with the lower half dipped in green and finished natural wood at the top.
The Master paddle is quite heavy, ranging from 12.0 to 13.8 ounces with an average of 12.9 ounces. This ranks it near the top of weight for all pickleball paddles. The paddle measures 15-1/4” from top to bottom with a width of 7-1/2”. The grip has a length of 5” and a circumference of just about 4”. The handle is finished with a black plastic end cap to help protect this vulnerable part of the paddle.
